A Club Plane?

A number of members have been asking the committee if there are any plans for the club to buy another aircraft. It was also mentioned at the AGM. Some people feel that the aircraft will not get enough use, making it expensive to operate. Before the committee come to any major decision, and spend all the money in the club account, plus any we may expect from last years’ air show, an input from the members would be appreciated.

There will be a proposal presented to the club at the Extraordinary general meeting on Wed 25 May.

The Air Show

The good news is that the South African Air Force had their own show at Waterkloof last year, so they could not come to ours! But the good news is that they have already promised that they will be here in full force this year.

The Club Committee is committed to an extra spectacular show this tear, and preparations are in hand.. Any Member (or non member) willing to lend a hand with the organizing is welcome to contact us.. No experience necessary, just enthusiasm.

Last years new major sponsor was SwaziBank, who possibly may increase their sponsorship this year. There was even discussion about sponsorship of the whole air show. Great news – but, there may be a downside to this, as the other regular sponsors would be sidelined, not a good move if we then have to go back to them in the future. So there will be a lot to discuss and think about for this year’s committee.

Nedbank have again offered a lump sum, plus free banking facilities, including banking on the field on the day of the air show. And,  WesBank also sponsored for the first time, as one of the Pitts teams were displaying the WesBank livery.

Paid-up members received their free entry tickets as usual.

VOLUNTEERS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED TO BE PART OF THE AIR SHOW ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

E Mail The Vice President philip@onestop.co.sz  for more info........  Or contact any committee member.

The Club House

Leon "Bungy"  Ryan is at the helm and things seem to be looking up... The food is well cooked and reasonably priced, the staff are working well, The pool is sparkling, and the place is getting busier... If you do not drop in regularly you should start doing so.
The club needs the support of it's members.
